Over Her Dead Body Review

February 2, 2008 - 4:21 pm

I’m very sorry it’s been a little while since my last review but this is only the second film that has grabbed my attention so far this year but the horizon is looking better with Juno and Step Up 2 The Streets looks amazing. Anyway, on with the review.

Over Her Dead Body tells the story of Henry who lost his fiancee, Kate (Eva Longoria Parker) in a tragic accident at their wedding 1 year ago. He reluctantly agrees with his sister, Chloe (Lindsay Sloane) to visit a psychic named Ashley (lake Bell). Despite his initial skeptisim he starts falling in with love with her and she with him. All seems well but as ever their has to be a problem, Henry’s fiancee ghost is haunting Ashley, believing that it is her heavenly mission to break the pair up (but is it?).

First things first, sorry for not posting here in a couple of days (for those who do visit reguarly) but i’ve been designing and implementing this new theme - normal service will be resumed shortly ;)

Any way I hope you do chose to subscribe :)

Julia Roberts To Produce & Star In Hothouse Flowers

January 29, 2008 - 11:11 am

Julia Roberts has signed on to produce and star in Hothouse Flowers, based on a yet to be published novel by Margot Berwin.

Roberts will play a divorced woman who leaves her job at a manhatten based advertising agency and decides to go on an adventure, this adventure will take her to places she never ever expected to see.

As it stands no script currently exists and no-one can start on one until the writers stike over in America is resolved so until then we’ll just have to wait.

Over Her Dead Body Trailer

January 29, 2008 - 11:00 am

This movie looks so funny, the concept is simple on the day of her wedding Kate (Eva Longoria Parker) gets killed by an ice angel. This I think would make anyone almightily pissed off (and she is). Her to be husband, Henry (Paul Rudd) has moved on and his new girlfriend can talk to ghosts. Therefore she can talk to and see Kate and Kate doesn’t want to let go - making for many awkward moments as Kate just hangs around.

Over Her Dead Body is released her in the UK on the 1st February 2008

Guillermo del Toro Is Tipped To Direct ‘The Hobbit’ Movies

January 29, 2008 - 10:38 am

It’s been a little while now since the Lord of the Rings trilogy was completed and as we revealed a couple of weeks ago, The Hobbit has now been greenlit.

With Peter Jackson on board as Executive Producer already, Guillermo del Toro is now in talks over directing The Hobbit movies.

The Hobbit movies are to be based around Tolkien’s book of the same name but are to be split into two movies, the first will be an adaption of the popular childrens story and the second will bridge the 80-year gap between the end of The Hobbit and the start of The Lord of the Rings.

Filming is scheduled to begin next year with possible release dates set for 2010 and 2011.

Halle Berry Claims That Good Female Roles Are Hard To Come By

January 29, 2008 - 10:28 am

Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry claims that good female roles don’t come around very often, she claims that she had to fight for her new role in Things We Lost In The Fire because it was a rare example of a “deep” female role.

She told the Press Association:

I think most actors have to fight for the good parts. They’re so few and far between, especially for women.

I very rarely read scripts with roles for women that are this good and this needy and this deep, and when I read this script, I connected with the material.

Things We Lost In The Fire is released here in the UK on the 1st February 2008.

So are good female roles really that hard to come by? I have to say that I haven’t really noticed, what do you think?

Image From Disney-Pixars ‘Up’

January 28, 2008 - 3:39 pm

It looks like the wheels are already in motion for Disney-Pixars 2009 release, Pixar Planet has some concept art for the new film.

So what’s Up all about, well Director Pete Docter described to Time the movie as “a coming of age story”, a story about a seventy something guy who makes friends with a clueless young Wilderness Ranger and gets caught up in lots of altercations.

According to Pixar:

Our hero travels the globe, fights beasts and villains and eats dinner at 3:30 in the afternoon

Sounds like fun! :)

As I said it’s only concept art as oppse to an actual picture, but lets face facts - Pixar are currently working on the publicity for WALL-E, this years Pixar movie (which looks very good) so go check it out here.

‘Heroes’ Star Milo Ventimiglia Joins The Cast Of An Action Movie

January 28, 2008 - 9:29 am

I think this one has been a while coming, following his outstanding performance as Peter Petrilli in Heroes. Introduction over, Milo Ventimiglia will be joining the cast of action movie Armoured.

Armoured tells the story of an employee of an armoured truck company who is ‘pursuaded’ (can’t think of a different word) by his work colleagues into stealing a truck containing $10 million.

The movie will be directed by Nimrod Antal and produced by Sam Raimi, Josh Donen and Dan Farah. Filming will be in Los Angeles and has been scheduled for release in 2010 - I say it’ll be one to look out for!
